The symbol of L’Alfas del Pi is a pine tree in the centre of the town, the pine is what puts the pi in the town’s name. So it was with great sadness that the most recent tree died and has now been replaced by a new tree, the seventh tree since one was first planted in 1786, when the town was still dependent on Polop.

This week, the pastor of l’Alfas, Miguel Angel Schiller, used the celebration of Palm Sunday to bless the new pine that was planted in the main square, which was well attended as you can see from the attached photo.
