Things To Do

Guadalest

An ancient village with Arab origins, one of the prettiest villages in Spain, perched on top of a mountain and enjoying fabulous views over a water reservoir and countryside.

Guadalest is a must if you haven’t already been, a tiny but very pretty ancient village, nestling at the top of a mountain with spectacular views from above of a huge water reservoir.

Wander around the 11th Century Arabic castle, visit the baroque church, stop off at the medieval Century jail and have look around the museum of a 300 year old rural home, where you can learn about wine making and the harshness of early life in Spain.

It is not far from the waterfalls, so could be combined on the same day.

Getting there Just over half an hour by car, public transport is complicated but there are also coach trips which need to be booked in advance.
